Trenos Pizzeria and Taproom
Salado is a charming and sleepy town only 20 minutes south of Temple. The town features a picturesque creek that flows through the middle of it, along with boutique shops and stone ruins that date back from the early 1900s.
Rio Salado’s large patio with a nearby playground makes it a great place for the kids to play while waiting for dinner.

A similar vibe to Trenos, but has a drive-thru option as well. It’s location on the West side of Temple makes it a great place to hang out near home. Pepper Creek Trail and Crossroads park are also close by for nature trails and recreation.

Miller’s is a destination we make sure to bring all of our out-of-town visitors to because the BBQ is always amazing. It’s in the heart of downtown Belton and only a short walking distance to Nolan Creek and Yettie Polk Park. The park has tons of room to run around, feed the ducks, walk the trail along the river, or play on the playground.
